SABRE Testimonial:

Service Operations Group Peer Award

For outstanding support to the Service Operations Group

"[Our] database developer, has worked extremely hard on developing an in-house tool (database) to store our data for travel, training, budget and employee information. This tool not only stores information, it provides functions for easy data discovery and reporting. This tool allows the staff to share data amongst TO leadership alleviating the team of data stove-pipes. I think he is one of the most innovative individuals. He is proactive in all that he does. His creativity has provided TO with unparalleled capabilities in the management our staff personnel data."

"I have been working with [GeoTec] for the past week on Odin, general observations:

  • Odin is user friendly and it only took me an hour or so to get familiar with it.

  • It has already enabled me to address several tickets that were hung up in various stages, getting them moved forward.

  • Makes tracking issues extremely simple, a few clicks brings up Remedy work logs and allows me to see exactly where tickets are, every action taken, by whom and when.

  • Allows me to see every CRQ’s, INC and pending REQ in my region or by specific site (very handy)

  • Has a Remedy update button that refreshes Odin with all new requests

This tool is exceedingly handy and very utilitarian. Using the Remedy provided tools is cumbersome, problematic and requires users to stay familiar with and changes made to the SRM tool, Odin provides and easy to use interface that puts everything into one location. I am seeing many tickets in our region that I was not even aware of, allowing me to help manage and work Issues and meet customers’ needs more effectively. In my humble opinion we should expand this tools availability to all the TX’s.”

Odin Testimonials:

“...Thanks, but you are the brilliant one that built ODIN. I merely used the application to find many tickets created/assigned by/to one person and tossed them at the employee to review & hopefully close the completed items. It is also an easy way to provide an employee a consolidated list of items they are responsible for. Try to find all your tickets in Remedy – not an easy task. I used ODIN to find the common attributes, changed the view to datasheet copied the rows, then deleted several columns of information that were not needed by the recipient & to make it readable.”

The Supervisory Application for Business Resources and Employees (SABRE) database application was designed to provide senior leadership with a central storefront of capabilities to manage business resources and personnel information in the following ways:

  • SABRE tracks and manages career functional training requirements and employee training accomplishments. This data can be displayed as a set of metrics dashboards or exported as a report for dissemination.

  • SABRE tracks the group’s training and travel financials. Projected and actual expenditures are automatically synchronized to the office budget, keeping the organization in the green and on track while ensure all employee training and travel requests are adequately prioritized and executed.

  • SABRE managed position vacancies, making it easy for supervisors and HR officers to draft announcements, vet candidates and fill billets; all with simple clicks.

Backgroud of Project Odin

Odin is a database designed to equip IT liaison personnel charged with the management of thousands of customer service requests submitted via the enterprise database. Odin bridges the gap between enterprise tools and the needs of the staff officer performing the specialized work.Odin recognizes that system issues are related to equipment, and that equipment is related to the users, people who drive the mission. This critical relationship between systems, users and mission is often lost in the “fog of war”. Odin provides necessary clarity by ingesting critical data from a variety of external and disjointed databases. By processing and reconciling the related elements Odin is able to output a clear and comprehensive picture of the operational landscape.
